Eileen Rose & The Legendary Rich Gilbert

kingsmead house concerts, Birmingham, U.K.

Eileen Rose is a unique blend of 70?s style troubadour, torch singer, rock chick, and honkytonk girl. She?s lived in Boston, London, Nashville and recently made the move to Freeport, Maine. She?s toured for decades, through the US and Europe, recorded with Alabama 3, released two records on Rough Trade sharing her self-penned songs, her spine-chilling voice, and a deep catalogue of classic covers from the some of the greatest songwriters of all time. This show features The Legendary Rich Gilbert - a jaw-dropping soloist on both electric guitar and pedal steel whom has recorded and toured with Frank Black, Uncle Tupelo and a host of others. May 2023 sees the release of Eileen?s newest album, recorded in her beloved Italy. Eileen blended the Holy Wreck with some of the greatest, innovative musicians in Italy to produce a collection of songs that are startling in their uniqueness. The fun and joy of merging this cross-cultural group of players is evident in their beautiful and exciting interpretation of Eileen?s material. At the centre of it all is Eileen?s unmistakable voice which has been called ?a beguiling hybrid of Patti Smith and Marianne Faithful...Rose's formidable array of assault weapons: a curling, insinuating voice at once coy and confessional.?
